LASANGE - LAN Session Management System

LASANGE aims at creating a mostly-automated LAN session administration and management system. It will provide game server management (instant deployment of game servers) and tournament management in a more advanced and automated way than other systems. It will also consist of basic tools for LAN sessions such as a generic modular Masterserver, IRC bot, etc.

LASANGE will consist of:

masterserver 0.4.1 released 28. May 2005 aschulz
Oops! The Doom 3 plugin in 0.4 doesn't work correctly. In 0.4.1 it's fixed.

masterserver 0.4 released 21. May 2005 aschulz
I finally got around to release a new version. This one has lots of bug fixes
and features 2 new plugins: Doom 3 and STV: Elite Force.

masterserver 0.3.3 released 26. Apr 2004 aschulz
Just a maintenance release which fixes the Gamespy query bug in libh2/q2 for
real. Also look here.
And thanks to Ingo for the nice CSS design. :)

Andre

masterserver 0.3.2 released 1. Feb 2004 aschulz
Finally 0.3.2 is released. libh2 has been fixed as well as a problem with the
"query" packet string in libh2/q2 which prevented GameSpy from getting the
server list. Thanks to 0815*fatty <fatty at gmx.ch> for pointing
out the GameSpy problem to me.
I'll test the QW plugin on masterserver.exhale.de and if there
aren't any major problems turning up I'll release 0.4 along with it.

Status update 26. Dec 2003 aschulz
Just discovered that the heretic2 plugin isn't working due to wrong comparison
in strcmp() calls in process(). I have a fixed version locally and will release
it some time during the next few days. I'm also still working on the QW plugin.
When the QW plugin is released a HW plugin will (hopefully) follow soon.
I've also worked on the documentation and added a few heretic2 packets.
Still have to update the english translation ...
Last but not least I've started work on a test suite which should make
future releases more stable and reliable.

Happy Holidays,
Andre

masterserver 0.3.1 released 25. Oct 2003 aschulz
Well, 0.3 was very buggy and so here's 0.3.1. Some nasty bugs fixed in
masterserver and the Q3 plugin. I tested both by bombarding them with 10000
packets and it didn't crash. So hopefully 0.3.1 is much more stable than 0.3.
I consider 0.3 as "too buggy" and thus removed it from the project's release
page.

Andre

masterserver 0.3 released 20. Oct 2003 aschulz
Well to make it short I'm glad to finally release a new version. More
information can be found in the sf.net News or in the CHANGELOG of 0.3.
ETA of 0.4: unknown
My lectures will begin as of tomorrow and I don't know if I'll have much time
for coding.

2nd WIP 28. Jun 2003 aschulz
Well pretty much nothing happened since the last update. The only interesting
thing is preliminary Heretic2 and Quake2 plugins for masterserver in CVS. So,
if you want to try them you have to do a CVS checkout.
Meanwhile, I took a look at RtCW: ET and have gathered some information which
should apply to Q3 as well. (e.g. motd support)
Ingo made me aware of a problem in the Q3 plugin and "getservers" queries.
The Q3 Master doesn't seem to honor the "ctf", "tourney", ... options but does
honor the protocol version. My Q3 plugin honors none of the options. Add the
"motd" support and I think I'm looking at a rewrite of at least the Q3 module.

I'll have to write exams throughout June so there won't be any updates.
To be honest I don't know when I'll be updating again.

WIP 14. Feb 2003 aschulz
It's been a bit quiet lately, but that's because Ingo is currently finishing
his final project for his IT job training and I'm learning for the tests
which await me at the end of this semester. (Precisely, during the next days)
But nevertheless, I'm working on a new masterserver
release which will feature a new plugin, new logging code (thx to Viktor) and
code cleanups.

Btw if you tried to test our masterserver as I stated in the last update,
it most likely didn't work because it's running on a new machine.
Try masterserver.exhale.de instead.

Update! 4. Dec 2002 aschulz
masterserver-0.2 released!
Finally 0.2 is out.
No big changes, just 2 new features.
masterserver can now be bound to specific interfaces and it now forks into
the background.
As usual, it's available from the "Files" section.

FYI, we have a machine where masterserver is running as a Q3 masterserver at
xxxx.xxxxxxx.xx .
So far it's been running for about 3 weeks without any problems whatsoever.
Thus, it seems to be pretty stable, but it really needs more testing.
Feedback is more than welcome. :)

Andre

Update! 4. Nov 2002 aschulz
masterserver-0.1 released!
I'm happy to announce that we've just released version 0.1 of our
masterserver.
It's available from the "Files" section.
Though it's still considered alpha by myself, it's pretty stable.
It currently only works on Linux systems, but it'll be ported
to other systems in the future.

Andre

Update! 27. Oct 2002 aschulz
We created a milestone plan, so we can measure our progress and
know exactly what to code. ;-)
After spending a whole day on debugging the masterserver we're very
confident that a alpha release will be out either today or sometime during
next week.
There should be some more documentation defining the architecture we're
trying to implement and what exactly we're trying to accomplish.
Stay tuned.

Andre
